Have you ever wondered if the Bible makes any references to extraterrestrials? You'll be surprised to find out! 📖

Theories of Ancient Aliens in the Bible
The Bible is the most widely read book in history. To Christians, it is the truth, but just like any other holy book, the Bible comes with its fair share of mysteries. While some people believe the Bible is a work of fictional tales and fables from ancient history, others believe the book contains the story of creation and supernatural events that took place many centuries ago.
The Bible has its critics who question its authority, but also millions of ardent followers who assert that it is the word of God. Whichever side you take, there’s no doubt in its authenticity as the most read, and influential book in our history.
Many have studied the Bible for hundreds of years, and continue to debate the true essence of its scriptures. One of the greatest mysteries of the holy book is how it describes otherworldly life. There are numerous passages that mention visitations from other lifeforms, and there are some believers who are absolutely adamant that the visionaries and authors of the Bible were visited by alien beings from distant worlds.
TV shows such as Ancient Aliens have made the Bible’s extraterrestrial theories all the more popular in recent years, with ufologists, experts and historians perpetuating the claims of evidence for extraterrestrial life in the Bible, but is there any actual truth to these claims?
The Nephilim As Giant-Sized Aliens
So they brought to the Israelites an unfavorable report of the land that they had spied out, saying, ‘The land that we have gone through as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants; and all the people that we saw in it are of great size. There we saw the Nephilim and to ourselves we seemed like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them.’
The books of Genesis, Numbers and Ezekiel portray the Nephilim as a giant-sized and mysterious race of great strength, who lived before and after the flood. The Hebrew word nefilim, translates as “giants” or “the fallen ones” (from the Hebrew naphal, “to fall”). The true identity of the Nephilim is still widely debated by scholars, but their story is one of great interest.
There are theories suggesting the Nephilim may have been fallen angels or demons, as they also referred to as ‘sons of God’, in Genesis 6:4.
“The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went in to the daughters of humans, who bore children to them. These were the heroes that were of old, warriors of renown.”
Biblical scholars also believe the Nephilim are again mentioned in Ezekiel 32:27, as “fallen mighty men”.
“And they do not lie with the fallen warriors of long ago who went down to Sheol with their weapons of war, whose swords were laid under their heads, and whose shields are upon their bones; for the terror of the warriors was in the land of the living.”
Scholars are in agreement that the Nephilim are of supernatural origin, but some people believe they could well have been an alien race, who came to Earth in order to create a hybrid species. Some even regard the Nephilim themselves as the hybrids, who were half-human, half-alien.
There’s no solid archaeological evidence that points to the existence of the Nephilim, but the tales of abnormally large creatures can be found in many parts of ancient folklore.

Ezekiel’s Visions of Spacecraft
One of the most popular verses quoted when it comes to extraterrestrial life in the Bible, is Ezekiel 1:4-6.
“And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.
Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man.
And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings.”
The prophet Ezekiel gives us another description of his heavenly experience, but on this occasion the description Ezekiel gives us, appears to be more Alien-like.
“15 As I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel on the ground beside each creature with its four faces. 16 This was the appearance and structure of the wheels: They sparkled like topaz, and all four looked alike. Each appeared to be made like a wheel intersecting a wheel. 17 As they moved, they would go in any one of the four directions the creatures faced; the wheels did not change direction as the creatures went. 18 Their rims were high and awesome, and all four rims were full of eyes all around… 22 Spread out above the heads of the living creatures was what looked something like a vault, sparkling like crystal, and awesome.” – Ezekiel 1
The creatures take Ezekiel up in their craft, and fly him to a temple on the highest mountain. Ezekiel goes on to describe feeling “the hand of God” on him, which some theorists believe, could be a reference to gravity.

Popular Ufologist and author Erich von Däniken had written about the theory of interpreting Ezekiel's Merkabah vision, as a visitation from ancient astronauts in his book Chariots of the Gods. After a chance meeting between the two, author Josef F. Blumrich originally intended to disprove this theory, but ended up agreeing with Von Däniken. After the two had spoken at a NASA event, Blumrich went on to write his own book entitled The Spaceships of Ezekiel that was published in 1974.
Whether or not you believe in Biblical interpretations when it comes to UFOs and aliens, there are still plenty of theories that make it a possibility, and experts continue to study the scriptures of the Bible to find reference to any alien visitations that may coincide with archaeological evidence.
